The before photo was taken in the afternoon and the after was at night once my work had been completed. The first thing I did was move the carpet out of the room and exchange the coffee table for the ottomans. I turned the lonely chair from the living room around to complete the grouping in the den. I switched the tall plant with the flowers. The coffee table was much too close creating a heaviness and no airflow. Now the coffee table is in the living room. Just a tip, coffee tables should be 15-18 inches away from the sofa to allow for easy access in and out. I like to have carpets under the front legs of any sofa or chair. The lucite art piece was flush against the wall of the den which contributed to the room feeling flat. Now it can be enjoyed from multiple rooms.

My client brought me in to prepare his penthouse for a broker`s open after not being to connect with his old Feng Shui consultant. A previous client of mine referred him. I began my process as I always do, with an energy clearing. Once I had the penthouse fully cleared, I started in the living room pictured below. The grey carpet in the living room was switched with the off-white carpet from the den. The ottomans in the living room found their new home in the den, while the coffee table in the den came to the living room. The position of the side table was adjusted and I added existing flowers. By simply raising the backs of the sofa and the chair, the energy in the room was lifted. Once again, no purchases were made to complete the job.
Removing the old awnings, choosing a fresh paint color, adding more important shutters, and planting flowers gave new life to this residence. This was one of three homes I worked on with this client.

My client`s office was not organized in a way that allowed her to work easily. A bit of Feng Shui, decluttering, and time got this office to look like the after photo. I moved her plant and added a tree, and it became a space where she works efficiently. Her business is thriving!

The carpet and the wall color were the first areas to be addressed in this Primary bedroom. I painted the walls caramel to warm the space, brought in a custom upholstered headboard and designed a new bed treatment. I had the chair made for my client`s comfort for sitting, reading, or watching TV. I added a matching valance over the window treatment and completed the space with a pair of matching nightstands, custom lamps, and framed botanicals.

I demoed this original 1974 kitchen to create a workspace ready for cooking. I eliminated the pantry which allowed for more countertop space. The soffits were removed and new recessed lighting was added. The upper cabinets were built to the ceiling providing more storage space and making the kitchen appear larger. The lower cabinets are all drawers that provide more usable space than cabinets. Both the tiled walls and the tall upper cabinets are throwbacks to the early twentieth-century kitchens of Hancock Park.

Can you see in this photo that the small chest is creating a feeling of heaviness? Although it did not work here, I did find a perfect home for the chest in another room. I brought the black Chinese table from the dining room into the entry to lift the energy. That, along with removing the clutter of the basket and the bag, made the entry feel more open and calm while also appearing larger. The painting above the chest was too large and now it is perfect because the composition works.

My clients wanted to enjoy the outdoors in their backyard. I gave them a table to gather, eat and play games. The curtains were there to soften and control the weather. I think they were happy, they ended up getting married in this spot!
